Telecare Orange County Shines at 32nd Annual Meeting of the Minds Conference

The Mental Health Association of Orange County partnered with community mental health partners for the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Minds Conference, “Anchored in Purpose: Charting Our Course Together,” held on May 22 at the Anaheim Marriott in California.

Telecare Orange County came out in full force as a proud Silver Sponsor, with staff and members participating from Orange County AOT and CARE, TAO North, TAO South, TAO Central, WIT, Orange County STEPS, Home First North FSP, Home First South, Home First Central, TREEhouse North, and TREEhouse South. The team hosted a Resource Fair table, sharing brochures, Telecare swag, and information about programs, peer support, and services. Other event sponsors included OC Health Care Agency, CalOptima Health, college hospitals, Jamboree Housing Corporation, and Hoag Hospital.

Telecare's peer team made a strong showing among workshop presenters. Andy Darnell, TREEhouse South Peer Recovery Coach, joined Heidi Dyell and Lei Portugal Calloway for the panel workshop “Pitfalls and Positives of Peer Support.” Lori Fischer presented “Telling Your Story as a Hero” alongside Lei and Heidi. For the second year, Lori also led the Consumer Art Show, where she and her best friend sold jewelry they created together.

We love seeing our Orange County peer team take the stage, share their stories, and represent Telecare in the community!
