About La Casa MHRC
La Casa Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC), operated by Telecare Corporation, is a 190-bed program providing assistance to adults with serious mental illness. La Casa offers evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals who would otherwise be in a state hospital or acute care facility.
In 1988, Telecare opened La Casa MHRC in Norwalk, California and in 1997, our program moved to a spacious nine-acre site, featuring a full-size gym and swimming pool.
Treatment at La Casa is based on the philosophy that, regardless of the degree of impairment, all individuals have the potential to achieve valued roles and make choices about living, learning, and working.
Just the Basics
Population Served: Adults 18 and older with serious and persistent mental illness
Funded by: Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health
This program follows Telecare’s Recovery-Centered Clinical System (RCCS), an innovative recovery framework that incorporates the latest research and evidence-based practices. RCCS emphasizes doing no harm and supporting and enlivening recovery. The recovery model incorporates such approaches as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), harm reduction, and other consumer-centered therapeutic interventions.
Services and Supports
A multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals prepares a treatment plan with each individual. A wide range of treatment approaches allows individuals to explore their potential and to work toward their personal recovery goals.
