At the Muriel Wright Recovery Center Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) program, we are here to help you find relief from distress and assist you in maintaining stability in your life. Our voluntary CRT has a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, psychiatric prescribers, nursing staff, and peer specialists who are all here to help you on your path.

To Make Referrals: Individuals are accepted by referrals only. Referral sources include Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department (BHSD) Criminal Justice Services (CJS) Division, the Behavioral Health Treatment Court, the Re-Entry Resource Center, Evans Lane Wellness and Recovery Center, and other CJS providers and referral sources.

# of Beds: 15 beds

Who is Served: This program will serve criminal justice-involved adults, aged 18 and older, who are experiencing an acute psychiatric episode or crisis and would otherwise require hospitalization.

Hours of Operation: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

About the Program: The Muriel Wright Recovery Center CRT is a 15-bed, voluntary crisis residential treatment center on Santa Clara County’s Muriel Wright behavioral health campus in San Jose, California. The CRT is co-located on the same campus as the Substance Use Treatment Services (SUTS) program.

The program was created as an alternative to and diversion from Emergency Psychiatric Services (EPS), acute psychiatric hospitalization, and incarceration. The CRT will serve a co-ed population with 90% male and 10% female census predicted; all referrals will be persons with justice-involved mental health status. The average length of stay for this program is 14-21 days.

The Muriel Wright Recovery Center CRT program is under contract with Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department.
