What is a Mental Health Urgent Care Center?

A mental health urgent care center is an alternative to a hospital emergency department where patients with urgent primary behavioral health needs will receive triage and referral. Services offered at a MHUC include mental health assessments and evaluations, crisis counseling, medication management, referrals to mental health and substance use outpatient treatment, and more.

Riverside MHUCs Can Provide…

  • Stabilization services

  • Brief therapy visits

  • Risk assessment and triage

  • Psychiatric evaluation for psychotropic medication

  • Psychiatric clearance for substance use disorder treatment

  • Mental health prescription refills (as necessary)

  • And more!
