Bakersfield Recovery Station Achieves ODS-DHCS Certification
/Telecare is proud to announce that Bakersfield Recovery Station has achieved Outpatient Detoxification Services Certification from the California Department of Health Care Services (ODS-DHCS), demonstrating the program’s commitment to providing comprehensive substance use disorder treatment services.
This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the Bakersfield Recovery Station team, with special recognition to Crystal Eastburn, Jessica Jones, Rhonda Van Cleve, and Shauna Chisholm for their leadership throughout the certification process. The certification enables the program to provide critical detoxification services to individuals experiencing substance use disorders.
The program is now working with Kern County to meet Drug-Medi-Cal Site Certification requirements, which will allow billing for drug-medical services.
This certification is significant, as many Telecare programs are now seeing ODS-DHCS Certification requirements added to their core services with the passage of Senate Bill 43. Signed in October 2023, SB 43 expands the definition of “gravely disabled” to include individuals unable to provide for their basic safety or medical care due to severe substance use disorder or co-occurring mental health disorders.
Congratulations to the Bakersfield Recovery Station team for this remarkable achievement!
