Telecare's Lei Portugal Calloway Recognized as Outstanding Peer Professional

Telecare celebrates the achievement of Lei Portugal Calloway, who was honored as the “Outstanding Peer Professional” at the 30th Annual Mental Health Association Community Service Awards & Gala. Lei’s recognition highlights Telecare’s commitment to empowering individuals and positively impacting the mental health community.

The themed “Walk the Red Carpet” gala brought together nominees from various categories, including outstanding professionals, volunteers, and clients. This year, a new category, Outstanding Peer Professionals, was introduced, acknowledging the significant contributions of peer support workers like Lei. Telecare’s Anthony Beaver, also nominated, exemplified the dedication of the organization’s peer professionals.

Lei’s win symbolizes her trailblazing efforts and dedication to supporting individuals on their mental health journeys. Her leadership within Telecare’s Orange AOT team has been instrumental in showcasing Telecare’s mission to provide exceptional care and support. The gala, held at Turnip Rose Promenade, featured keynote speakers, a luncheon, and a raffle, with the backing of esteemed sponsors like Jamboree Housing and NAMI Orange County.
