Telecare MCRT Celebrates One Year of Service!

Get to Know The Program

In August 2021, Telecare opened our first Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) in San Diego, California - Telecare MCRT. In partnership with San Diego County Behavioral Health, this innovative program brings free rapid crisis support to all regions of San Diego County delivered by a dedicated team of mental health professionals.

One year after opening, Telecare MCRT has a lot to celebrate. “The Mobile Crisis Response Team approach is a prime example of transforming and shifting from a system of care driven by crisis to one rooted in prevention, ongoing and long-term care, and integration with primary health care,” wrote Nick Macchione, director of San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Agency, and Luke Bergmann, director of the agency’s Behavioral Health Services Division, in their recent op-ed for The San Diego Union-Tribune.

In June, California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta toured MCRT with Chair of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors Nathan Fletcher. “I am pleased to see California cities, such as San Diego, finding innovative ways to advance public health and safety,” said Attorney General Bonta.

We at Telecare are so proud of the hard work and dedication of MCRT’s administrator Bre Lane, LMFT, and her staff of 60+ healthcare and administrative professionals dedicated to serving their community. Congratulations and thank you to all the staff on a successful first year of service!
