Cypress House Spirit Week Celebrates Pride and Juneteenth

Telecare's Cypress House in Oakley, CA, recently dedicated its spirit week to honoring Juneteenth and Pride. This celebration is a great way to show support for the black and LGBTQIA+ communities and promote unity. Cypress House halls were adorned with Juneteenth and Pride decorations to support both events. Juneteenth and Pride are noteworthy events that are worth celebrating!

As clients and staff walked through the space, they could read through bulletin boards that shared the meaning and history of Juneteenth and Pride. On the boards were worksheets clients and staff could go through to learn more about different concepts like what freedom means to everyone. This was a great way to learn more about these meaningful events and show staff and clients that we respect their voices.

Apart from the decked-out decorations and the bulletin boards, there were other activities that staff and members could participate in, like dressing in related clothing or painting!

Staff and members had the opportunity to discover valuable information throughout their week. It was a great chance to understand more about African American culture, the significance of this holiday, honor our progress in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights, and why both are still important today.

Cypress House has worked hard to celebrate two important events and ensure everyone understands their value. We are proud of their efforts to educate the community and produce a special experience for all.
