About Sausal Creek Outpatient Stabilization Clinic
Sausal Creek Outpatient Stabilization Clinic (“Sausal Creek”) provides services to any adult in Alameda County who feels that they cannot wait for routine mental health outpatient care. The clinic is open to referrals and walk-ins. Services are provided for people in acute distress or discomfort as a result of mental illness, difficulty with medications, or personal/family crisis.
Sausal Creek is a voluntary program providing a safe, respectful environment where people in crisis can receive mental health services. People can leave any time they choose. Our program is operated by Telecare Corporation under contract with Alameda County

What Makes Us Different
Sausal Creek functions as an alternative to psychiatric emergency services. However, our niche is in providing services to consumers who are either uninsured or underinsured.
In 2011, Sausal Creek became an enrollment site for potential candidates of Alameda County's low-cost health plan for the indigent, Health Plan of Alameda County (HPAC). This enrollment period allowed some consumers to have some type of health care for the first time in their adult lives.
After successfully enrolling 1,161 consumers between July 1, 2011 and January 31, 2014, Sausal Creek's roster of uninsured consumers gradually decreased from 37% (FY 2011-2012) to 15% (FY 2012-2013) to 12% (FY2013-2014). In fact, during February 2014, all 313 of the consumers served had some type of health plan. This was the first time this had happened at Sausal Creek in the history of the clinic's existence. This was also directly related to the ability of HPAC recipients to convert their Alameda County Health Care Plans to Medi-Cal, Alameda Alliance, or some other insurer during the Covered California enrollment period.
We strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for all of our consumers and their families.
