Sausal Creek Outpatient Stabilization Clinic provides services to any adult who feels that they cannot wait for routine mental health outpatient care.
The clinic is open to referrals and walk-ins. Services are provided for people in acute distress or discomfort as a result of mental illness, difficulty with medications, or personal/family crisis.
Sausal Creek has created an easy to use decision tree to help providers determine if a client should be referred to Sausal Creek or another resource. The information below provides a basic summary of Sausal Creek eligibility information:
- Sausal Creek serves individuals 18 years of age or older.
- We cannot accept individuals under the age of 18 or with an established primary diagnosis of dementia.
- Individuals who have medical needs may need to be screened prior to being served in this setting.
- Individuals exhibiting violent behaviors or with a significant history of such will be referred to emergency settings within the system of care.
Services Offered:
- Rapid access to psychiatrists, nurses and licensed clinical staff
- Psychiatrist services are available at all times
- Intensive assessment and medication evaluation
- Problem resolution assistance
- Supportive counseling
- Appropriate linkage with community supports and services
- Follow-up visits and/or contacts
- Other services such as food, showers or transportation are available if neccessary.

Psychiatric services are typically available on-site. However, when possible, please call ahead to confirm there have been no changes in the psychiatrist’s schedule.
Sausal Creek is a voluntary program.
It is a safe, respectful environment where people in crisis can receive mental health services. People can leave any time they choose. Sausal Creek is a County-funded program, operated by Telecare Corporation under contract with Alameda County.
