MARCIE ATCHISON APPOINTED TELECARE
VICE PRESIDENT FOR HUMAN RESOURCES
ALAMEDA, Calif., Nov. 30, 2010 – Marcie Atchison has been appointed Vice President of Human Resources for Telecare Corporation. She starts the position at a strategic point in Telecare’s history as the organization begins efforts to develop new strategic growth opportunities within existing regions and across the country.
“Marcie has successfully helped organizations build strong relationships within diverse workforces and has the creative and intellectual ability to guide H/R policy during the era of health care reform and a time of great change at Telecare,” said Anne Bakar, President and CEO of Telecare. “I am confident that her integrity and passion will enable us to maintain our positive and affirming culture and sustain our reputation as one of the best places to work.”
Ms. Atchison comes to Telecare with 14 years of H/R leadership experience, most recently as the VP/HR for Trinity Health in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she was responsible for supporting five hospitals, 25 ambulatory facilities, 10,000 employees, 1,200 beds and 1,800 physicians. In that capacity, Ms. Atchison developed and led all aspects of the organization’s H/R vision and strategy including employee engagement, culture development, leadership development, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, employee health and risk management. Previously, she worked as Director of H/R at Spectrum Health Hospitals in Grand Rapids Michigan, a three-Hospital system with 10,000 employees. Before that she practiced labor and employment law and was the H/R Director at Jackson County Medical Care Facility, a long-term care facility with four labor unions.
Ms. Atchison started her undergraduate degree while in the U.S. Air Force and completed it at Wichita State University with a BA in English Education. She then taught high school and continued her education at night, earning a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University and a JD degree from Michigan State University.
Ms. Atchison replaces Carol Caputo who retired after 20 years leading Telecare’s H/R department.
