SAN BERNARDINO ACT MOVES TO NEW LOCATION
Services and Telephone Numbers Won't Change
ALAMEDA, Calif., July 18, 2007 - San Bernardino ACT (assertive community treatment) is moving to a new address: 2080 S. E Street, San Bernardino, CA 92408. The new location opens on Tuesday, July 31. There will be no change in services or contact telephone numbers, according to program administrator Beatrice Serafin.
"The offices provide more space for our expanding programs, enabling us to better serve our members," said Serafin. "The ACT programs focus is on supporting members to live in the community during their recovery process, helping them to achieve their full potential -- which includes strengthening family relationships, developing friendships, and pursuing social activities."
A 100-member program, San Bernardino ACT opened in January 2003, under contract as the ACT program in San Bernardino County. Services are 24/7, 365-days-a-year and include: clinical risk assessments, medication management and training, psychiatric services and individual therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation and social skills training, substance abuse services, 24-hour crisis care services for members and families, housing services, including support in finding and maintaining chosen housing environments, and support in daily living, and employment services, including skills-development training and job placement assistance. In 2006 the program won a National Association of Counties Achievement Award.
Telecare (www.telecarecorp.com) operates a broad spectrum of behavioral health services ranging from freestanding acute care units to crisis call centers. Since 1965, Telecare has specialized in providing services to adults with serious mental illness and complex needs. Telecare runs over 60 programs in five states, and has designed and incorporated its own evidence- and innovation-based Recovery Centered Clinical System into these programs to awaken and enliven the recovery process.
